You may be entitled to an NHS eye examination if you can meet any of the following criteria:
- You are 60 or over
- You are under 16
- You are aged 16, 17 or 18 and study full time at school, college or university
- You or your partner receives Income Support
- You or your partner receives Income-based Jobseekers Allowance
- Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
- Pension Credit Guarantee Credit
- Tax Credit and you or you and your partner are named on a valid NHS Tax Credit Exemption Certificate
- You are named on a valid HC2 certificate
- You are registered blind/partially sighted
- You suffer from diabetes or glaucoma
- You are considered to be at risk of glaucoma by an ophthalmologist at a named hospital
- You are 40 or over and are the parent/brother/sister/child of a person who has or had glaucoma
- You are a prisoner on leave from a named prison
- You have been prescribed complex lenses under the NHS optical voucher scheme
